Periodontitis, a common gum disease caused by bacteria build-up, leads to bone loss around teeth. Treatment involves removing bacteria deposits below the gum line (may require numbing shots) followed by less intensive maintenance.

Dental implants are metal or ceramic screw-shaped objects that can support lab-made teeth, bridges or dentures. All implants are placed within the bone of the jaws and require surgical access through the soft tissue under local anaesthetic.

The implants must be placed within the healthy jaw bone but in some cases, the bone has shrank after tooth extractions, atrophied without use. We utilise bone substitute grafts, mostly derived from an animal sources to reconstruct the lost volume.

Soft tissue plastic surgery is an important part of discipline aimed at achieving healthy, harmonious and stable gum. In some cases, it means removing the excess tissues to expose more of “unnaturally” short teeth and make smile more harmonious.
